Lois Ann White Duplechain, 66, of Lake Charles, LA died on Friday, August 12, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Duplechain was born August 16, 1944, raised and lived early childhood in Richmond, IN. She was also educated and lived as a young adult in Venice, FL. She has lived the past thirty years in Lake Charles. Mrs. Duplechain worked ten years in the Wager Window for Delta Downs Race Track and ten years as a Cage Supervisor for Isle of Capris. She enjoyed working Cross Word Puzzles, watching her "daily" game shows, attending horse races, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events, as she was their biggest cheerleader and spending time "catching up with the girls". She was also an avid Florida Gators fan.
Mrs. Duplechain will be most remembered for seeing only the good qualities in others and for her wisdom.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, J.D. "Brother-in-law" Duplechain of Lake Charles; daughter, Susan Kay Alfred and husband Kevin of Carencro, LA; three grandchildren, Katie, Cody and Coen Alfred of Carencro; step-son, Buddy Duplechain and wife Monica of Vidalia, LA; two step-daughters, Vickie Bergeron and husband Billy of LeBleu Settlement, LA and Tina Hare and husband Jon of Moss Bluff; seven, step grandchildren; one, step great- grandchild; step-mother, Dorothy White of Venice, FL; step-brother, Don Frysinger of Jacksonville, FL and three step-sisters, Carol Kendricks of Venice, FL, Jean Green of Casselberry, FL and Cheryl Knight of Atlanta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Irvin and Mary Lois Osborne White; one brother, Gary Frysinger; first husband, Gordon Gustely and her companion of many years, Chester Bellard.
Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Visitation Tuesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. With respect of Mrs. Duplechains' wishes, cremation will follow services.
