Loney Rita East

Loney Rita East, 92, passed away on December 31, 2012 in New Orleans, LA at Ochsner West Bank Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Robison Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Deacon Johnny Mounce officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss, LA. Visitation will be from 8:00 am until time of service Wednesday morning. Loney was born on March 16, 1920 in Port Arthur, Texas, and lived in Sulphur most of her life. She worked at Kmart as a cashier then department head of the pharmacy. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, and traveling together with friends. Mrs. East is survived by her two nieces: Buff Comeaux and husband Ken of Marrero, LA, and Linda Sims and husband Charles of Georgetown, TX; two great nieces: Ashley Walker and husband Randy of Marrero, LA and Bridgette Trosclair and husband Adam of Marrero, LA; one great-great niece, Amelia Walker of Marrero, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie East; her parents: Isadore Dronet and Evia (Norris) Dronet; and her sister, Virgie Watkins.
