Lonnie Keith Moore, 51, passed away June 1, 2011 at his residence in Baytown, TX.
Mr. Moore was born on October 14, 1959 in Crowley, LA to Lonnie Moore and Cora Smith Moore. He grew up in Lake Charles and attended Lake Charles High School where he played the baritone saxophone in the band. In 1978, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was in the military police at Malmstrom AFB in Montana. Following his discharge, Mr. Moore returned home to Lake Charles and worked as a security guard at St. Patrick Hospital. He later moved to Austin, TX where he was employed in the security department at the Texas School for the Deaf. Following his retirement, Mr. Moore returned to Lake Charles for several years before recently moving to Baytown.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving mother, Cora Mouton and stepdad, Curtis Mouton of Baytown, brother, Todd Rippeon and wife, Jacinta, nieces, Madisyn and Miranda of Sulphur and best friend and faithful companion, Pasquales, his dog. He is also survived by his loving and supportive first cousins, Georgie Welch, Linda Terrebonne, Brenda Middlebrooks, Curtis Clayton, Mark Welch and several other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Moore, his paternal grandparents, Limerick and Irene Moore and his maternal grandparents, George and Pearlie Smith.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home.
