Lora age 64 passed away Saturday July 10th, 2010 in the comfort of her home in Kinder, LA.
She was a long term resident of Cameron, LA where she lived until hurricane Rita.
Lora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the arts, and was a talented artist and photographer. Some of her artwork includes a collection historical Cameron Parish Homes on exhibit in the Cameron library. Lora was a person with a genuine concern for the environment. One of her passions was her love of the beach where many family holidays and outings were held. Lora was known as being generous, gracious and giving, always putting others before herself. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Some of her community involvements include managing the art show for the LA Fur and Wildlife Festival, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Cameron Council On Aging.
Lora was owner of Take Two in Cameron. She was a tutor at Cameron Elementary School. Lora and her husband David owned Town Country Motel in Cameron. Recently she was a driver for Resource Transportation and owned Chateau motel in Kinder, LA. She attended Wakefield Methodist Church in Cameron, where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include her husband David, Daughters Melissa Bignall of Moss Bluff, and Elizabeth Robinson of China, TX, Grandchildren Dallen Stone, Zachery Bignall, Callie Robinson, and Great-Grandchild Brayden Stone, Granddaughter-in law Caitlyn Heier. Parents Starks and Lorraine Johnson of Big Lake, Sisters Cleo Primeaux and Cheryl Reece, Brothers Daniel Johnson, Ron Johnson, Gerald Johnson, and John Johnson, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday July 12 at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM. Reverend James Moore will officiate.
