Loree Joseph Cormier, 87, of Lake Charles passed away, Sunday, August 05, 2012 in his residence.
Mr. Cormier was a native and lifelong resident of Calcasieu Parish and worked as Warehouse Supervisor at Citgo for over thirty years retiring in 1988. He attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Mr. Cormier was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, duck hunting, gardening, and was a longtime member of the Rod and Gun Club. He tried to fix everything that was broken around his home. Mr. Cormier followed LSU Football compassionately.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynette Clark and husband Dwain of Lake Charles; two granddaughters, Sarah Simon and husband Ryan, and Katie Sanford and husband Jeff; four great grandchildren, Noah, Ella, Eli, and Cooper Simon; and his loving companion Theresa McCabe, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Cormier; his parents, Adolph and Alomie (Doucet) Cormier; brothers, Raymond and Alfred Cormier and sister, Eula Mae Rowland.
His funeral will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Our Lady of Good Counsel Building Fund.
