Lorena "Rose" Marie Miller Fruge, 82, of Welsh died at 5:13 PM Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a resident of the Golden Age Nursing Home in Welsh for the past 4 years.
Mrs. Fruge was a native of Creole, Louisiana and has lived most of her life in the LeBleu Settlement, LA. Rose enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include step-daughter Gloria Green and husband Walter of Dry Creek; daughter-in-law , Ruth Fruge of Iowa, sister-in-law Fay Miller of Texas; her granddaughters Tina Boudreaux and husband Dale, and Marie Noel and husband Barefoot, grandsons James "Buddy" Fruge, Darren Fontenot, Whitney and Louis Green, eleven great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Fruge is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Whitney Oscar Fruge, her mother Bell Logray, her father John Miller, son , Morris Benoit, two step-sons James Fruge and Davis Fontenot and brother Amos Miller.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Elyse Sonnier will officiate. Burial will be in LeBleu Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
