Lou Ann Trahan

October 27, 1947 — January 6, 2021

Lou Ann Trahan, 73 of Lake Charles, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born in Leesville, LA on October 27, 1947 to the late Paul Revere and Mary Lou Hall Self. 

Lou was raised a Christian and loved going to church.  She worked a few different jobs for CARC for 13 years before retiring as Staff Trainer in 2012.  She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and working in the garden.  She had a passion for painting, her favorites were “Betty Boop” and “Eeyore”.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Ann McCauley Unson & husband Brian and their son, Randall and fiance Kasie; son, Ricky Earl Trahan & wife Cristin and their sons, Seth and Ricky & fiancé Kate and their son, Ricky; 2 stepsons, Terry and Tony Trahan; sister, Linda Self Piper & husband John; brother, Douglas Franklin Self; numerous nieces and nephews; son at heart, Brian Curtis Calloway; her beloved dog, Boudreaux and 6 grand dogs. 

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; 6 siblings, James H. Self, Nelda Faye Miller Pauley, James Self, Stan Dale Self, Francis M. Self, and Virginia Rae Comer Newman; husband, Earl Louis Trahan; son, Glenn Edward McCauley; and stepson, Donny Trahan.
