Lou Anna “Deville” Benoit, 70, known to many as “MAW” has left this world to start a new journey with her loving Heavenly God Jehovah and his son, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lou died on March 22, 2017 due to a long-life struggle of multiple health conditions.
Lou was a loving mother, grandmother, a devoted and faithful wife of 37 years and loved her grandchildren more than life itself. She loved dancing; varieties of music; cooking; outdoor life and her favorite pastime activity BINGO! Her favorite holidays were Easter and Christmas while spending time at family gatherings.
Lou is survived by her three sons; Russell Benoit (wife Rhonda) their 2 sons Grayson & Garren of Sulphur, La. Mickey Benoit (wife Lisa) and their 2 children Maggie & Brock of Praireville, La, Mark Benoit (wife Cathy) and his 2 daughters Kateland & Breanna of Sulphur, La. a grand-daughter Amber Kibodeaux Burnett of Sulphur La.
Lou being a 13th child was born on the 26th day of September, 1946 to Willis & Lillian “Bertrand” Deville of Edgerly and is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Lou is also survived by her remaining sisters Ida Parish of Vinton, La. and Dorothy Jean Wilson of Florida. Lou has a host of nieces and nephews that she loved as well.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Maplewood First Baptist Church in Sulphur. Visitation will begin from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the church. Visitation will resume Friday, March 24, 2017 from 10 AM until time of service at Maplewood First Baptist Church. Bro. Jeremy Blocker will officiate the services. She will be laid to rest at her final destination at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Pallbearers are Russell Benoit, Mark Benoit, Mickey Benoit, Grayson Benoit, Brock Benoit, and Hubert Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers are Garren Benoit, Eric Blood and David Grubb.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Brighton Bridge and Heart of Hospice Group for providing wonderful, compassionate care to their loved one. As well as the nursing staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and the LTAC Unit of LCMH, located at St. Patrick’s Hospital for providing diligent, excellent and compassionate care.Visits: 6
