Lou Bell Arabie Rigdon, 74, of Ragley, LA passed away at 12:55 PM on Monday, February 7, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Rigdon was born October 11, 1936 in Fenton, LA, and has resided in Barnes Creek, Ragley, for the past twenty-eight years. Mrs. Lou was funny, caring, and compassionate. She never met a stranger. She loved and watched over her entire family whole heartedly and would do anything, for anyone, at anytime. Mrs. Lou was also an amazing caregiver. She will be greatly missed and will live on in our hearts. We love you.
Mrs. Rigdon is survived by her son, Paul Ray Rigdon of Singer, LA; daughter, Linda Fay Matte of Moss Bluff, LA; brothers, Robert Arabie, Roy Arabie and wife Janet, Gerald Arabie and wife Charlene, and Tommy Arabie and wife Audrey; eight grandchildren, Donovan Rigdon, Stacy Guynes, Gyth Rigdon, Cade Rigdon, Steven Matte, Stewart Matte, Stephanie Powell, Karvin Rigdon, and Natasha Coleman; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Rigdon; parents, Wilson and Bertha Johnice Arabie; and two sisters, Dianne Thibodeaux and Genevieve Savoy.
Pallbearers for the service will be Donovan, Gyth, and Cade Rigdon, Steven and Stewart Matte, and Craig Arabie. Honorary pallbearers will be Karvin Rigdon and Paul Rigdon.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
