Lou Esther Johnson, 81, of Hackberry, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at her residence. She was born on April 15, 1931 in Hackberry and was a life-long resident of Hackberry. Lou was an owner of Johnsons Grocery Store in Hackberry for 14 years. She was a member of the Saint Peters Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She also loved to play cards, bingo, and pokeno. Lou enjoyed gardening and her flowers and collected tea pots as a hobby. Lou is survived by her husband of 66 years, Carl Preston Johnson of Hackberry; son, Blaine Johnson and wife Melisa of Hackberry; three daughters: Wanda Lou Johnson Oestriecher and husband Cliff Oestriecher, Jr. of Crowley; Glenda Ann Johnson Seay of Hackberry, and Stephanie Sue Johnson Miller and husband Grant of Hackberry; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Napolean Kibodeaux and Milbry Duhon Kibodeaux; and brother, Roy Joseph Kibodeaux. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Peters Catholic Church in Hackberry with Father Rommel Tolenteno officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peters Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church Hall from 2:00 pm-10:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, and resume Tuesday morning at 8:00 am until time of service.
