Louella Lou Bonin

Louella Marie DeRouen Bonin, 81, of Lake Charles, LA died at 8:00 PM on June 9, 2012 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Bonin was born August 19, 1930 in Avery Island, LA, raised in Avery Island, and lived in Lake Charles for the past sixty years. She enjoyed painting artwork, yard work, and will always be remembered for her energy and feisty personality. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Bonin is survived by her daughters, Karen Broussard and husband Donald of Lake Charles, Dara Murphy and husband Darrell of Longview, TX, and Frances Louviere of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Eula Viator of Lake Charles, Margarine Courville, and Audrey Breaux, both of New Iberia, LA; grandchildren, Darren Louviere, Jared Broussard and wife Heather, Kristi Broussard, Ryan Murphy, and Michael Murphy; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Bonin; parents, Dutille and Sedonie DeRouen; brother, Julius DeRouen; and sister, Georgie Sevin.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
