Louetta Lou Trahan

January 26, 1923 — September 27, 2010

Louetta "Lou" LeBouef Trahan, age 87, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at a Lafayette hospital.


Born January 26, 1923, in Sweet Lake, she was a graduate of Sweet Lake High School and lived most of her adult life in Grand Isle before moving to Lafayette. Mrs. Trahan had resided the last two years at the Lafayette Care Center. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, and a son, David Lee Trahan.


Survivors include her daughter, Ellen Richard and husband, John "Butch" of Spokane, WA; two sons, Douglas Trahan and wife, Janice of Lafayette, and James Trahan and wife, Cindy of Grand Isle; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Trahan of Lafayette; a sister, Pauline Cormier and husband, Eddie of Lake Charles; a nephew raised as a son, Eugene Beard of Nicholasville, KY; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


Her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Deacon Dan Landry will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, October 1, from 10 a.m. until time of service. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and workers at Lafayette Care Center for their kindness, compassion, and care given to Ms. Trahan during her stay there.
