Louis Charles Deluca

February 9, 1922 — April 30, 2016

Louis “Lou” “Louie” Charles DeLuca went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 30, 2016. He was born on February 9, 1922 in Patterson, Louisiana.

 

He was the husband of Angeline “Angie” Blazquez DeLuca. He was a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana and a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church for sixty-one years.  Louis, a World War II veteran, proudly served his country twenty-three years in the Air Force, retiring in 1962.  He retired a second time in 1983 from Himont in Sulphur.  He loved life, family, friends, airplanes, cooking, vegetable gardening, woodworking and traveling.

 

Louis was loved and will be missed by his daughters, Louise Janet DeLuca of Lake Charles and Susan Mary DeLuca Jones and husband Danny of Columbus, Kansas; his son, Thomas Wayne DeLuca and wife Masako of Lynnwood, Washington; his grandson, Kiichiro Joshua DeLuca; granddaughter, Keiko Jennifer DeLuca; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Louis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Angie; his parents, Carlo DeLuca and Mary Leone DeLuca; brothers, Carmel DeLuca and Lucian DeLuca; sister, Bessie DeLuca Muth; niece and godchild Kathleen “Kathy” Muth; and nephews, Gordon Haggard and David Wylie.

 

A celebration of Louis’ life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Father Jay Alexius will officiate.  Interment services with military honors will follow at Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m., with a rosary to be held at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.

 

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved father to the doctors and staff of Harbor Hospice.

 

For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift in memory of Louis to St. Margaret Catholic Church, Disabled American Veterans, or to the charity of one’s choice.
