Louis E. Daigle

Louis E. Daigle, 71, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 4:52 AM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in his residence.

Mr. Daigle was born July 26, 1946 in Church Point, LA, where he was a 1964 graduate of Church Point High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy onboard the U.S.S. King during the Vietnam War. He worked in quality control, where he trained people from around the world for Hercules / Himont / Montell, and retired after thirty-two years of service. Following his retirement, Mr. Daigle was the owner / operator of Poly Lab Research, an independent consulting firm helping with quality control of the manufacturing of plastic. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and he loved to travel with his wife. He also enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and scuba diving.

Mr. Daigle is survived by his wife of almost fifty-two years, Carol S. Comeaux Daigle; sons, Scott Daigle, PhD and wife Cynthia Damer, PhD of Mount Pleasant, MI, Dr. Rodd Daigle and wife Rebecca Morris Daigle of Oak Ridge, TN, and Douglas Daigle, M.Ed of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Wayne H. Daigle of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Elvina Daigle, also of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Sela, Roman, and Jolie Damer-Daigle, and Alexander, Cora, Charlotte, Patrick, John Paul, Sarah, Simon, and Samuel Daigle; close friends, Charles and Pam Thibodeaux of Lake Charles and Inge Karlberg of Belgium; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos A. and Elise Andrepont Daigle; and brothers, John Harold Daigle, Wilbert Daigle, and Hilary Daigle.

His Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM lead by Deacon George Carr. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:15 PM.
