Louis Perron, 83, of Lake Charles died Sunday, October 21, 2012 in a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Perron lived most of his life in Lake Charles, with the exception of the few years he lived on a farm in Basile, LA. He attended Central School, T.S. Cooley and LaGrange Elementary. He was a member of Community Christian Church, formerly First Church of Christ and French Language Church.
Mr. Perron worked in cotton fields, rice fields, and mowed lawns. In later years, Mr. Perron could be seen riding his bicycle on the street of the hi-mount section of Lake Charles until the age of 81.
Mr. Perron will be most remembered for always having a friendly smile and friendly greeting for anyone who spoke to him and seldom complained about anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Batiste and Elda Fontenot Perron; brother, Esta Lee Perron and sister, Verna Mae LaFleur.
He is survived by a sister, Verna Kropp of Lake Charles; brother, Vories Blacky Perron and wife Patricia of Lake Charles; two nieces, Debbie Daigle of Lake Charles and Sue Castor of Austin, TX and three nephews, Anthony Davidson and Michael Davidson, both Glendale, AZ and James LaFleur of Lake Charles.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Veillon will officiate. Interment in Black Bayou Cemetery will be private. Visitation Thursday will be from 1:30 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
