Funeral services for Mr. Leroy Blanchard, 78, of Kinder, La will be held at Robison Funeral Home on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow at Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou, La. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 2-9 pm in the Robison Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary at 7 pm and on Monday from 8 until service time. Mr. Leroy Blanchard passed away on August 27, 2010 in St. Patricks Hospital. He was born in Eunice, La on February 1, 1932 to Mamie L. Marcantel and Elias Blanchard. He lived most of his life in Johnson Bayou, La and moved to Kinder, La after hurricane Ike. He worked for many years in the oil field. He retired from the Cameron Parish Police Jury in Johnson Bayou after 19 years of service. His most beloved past time was dancing and listening to French music. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine T. Blanchard of Kinder; two sons, Quentin Blanchard and wife Bonita Faye of Kinder, and Farrell Blanchard and wife Mary of Port Arthur, Tx; daughter, Darla B. Eaves and husband Bob of Colmesneil, Tx; three sisters, Vergie Richard of Eunice, Betty Fontenot of Basile, and Anna Lee Thibodeaux of Eunice; sister-in-law Mary Jane Blanchard of Eunice; and 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mae Dorothy Blanchard; great grandson, Clay Ethan Eaves; and brother, Rodney J. Blanchard, Sr.
