Louis Wayne "Hawkeye" Hoffpauir

Louis Wayne “Hawkeye” Hoffpauir, 89, of Sulphur, passed away Saturday November 18, 2023, in a local care facility surrounded by his loving family.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He spent his career working at Conoco for over 30 years, before going back to work for another 15 years at a local refinery. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on projects in his barn. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his friends every weekend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Jan Bowdoin Hoffpauir, his four children, Holly Hoffpauir (Charlie Henry), Danny (Karen) Hoffpauir, Nancy (Steve) Brown, and Julie (Gary) Slaven; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Alice Hoffpauir, and his brother, Shelby Hoffpauir.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harbor Hospice of Lake Charles for the exceptional care they provided to him over the last few weeks.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Reverend Carlos Garcia officiating. The visitation will be, November 21, 2023, from 9 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home until time of the service, with the service starting at 11:00 AM.  The burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
