Louise Alice Frati Harris, at the age of 92, passed away on December 31, 2018 in her residence at the Verandah in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Louise was born in Bangor, Maine on June 4, 1926. Her husband of 64 years, Lynn Alanson Harris, predeceased her on March 4, 2014. Louise was the oldest of five children born to Enrico and Alice Frati.
She lived independently and was very proud and determined to do this until the end of her life. She was full of personality, vibrant and always busy.
In her early years, while raising her three children, she operated her beautician business in her home. While living in Dunedin, Florida she and Lynn enjoyed playing golf and she remained a lifelong golf fan. In her later years she enjoyed cross stitching, playing bridge, entertaining her friends, doing puzzles and taking walks.
Louise was not shy with her opinions, but would listen to others before telling you her point of view. We all know she is explaining things to God in Heaven now while Lynn patiently sits by her side. She will be missed. We thank her for being such a good mom, role model and friend.
Louise is survived by her children, Jody L. Harris, Livonia, New York; John P. Harris and wife Elizabeth, Lake Charles, Louisiana; and James J. Harris and wife Josie, New Albany, Ohio. She had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Christopher and Elizabeth Sturgeon (Luc and Urban), Clay, New York; Jeremy and Ricki Sturgeon (Paige and Joshua), Mason, Ohio; Sarah Harris and Eric Martin (Waverly), Los Angeles, California; Stephen and Holly Harris (Anna and Samuel), Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Margaret and Hannah Harris, both of Columbus, Ohio.
Louise and Lynn will be interred in the family plot at Hillington Cemetery in Morris, New York. The Harris family would like to thank everyone who knew Louise for their prayers and blessings. Donations in her name can be sent to Zion Episcopal Church, 158 Main St., Morris, New York, 13808.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, Louisiana.
