Louise Ballard

Anita Louise Ballard, 76, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, March 22, 2016 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Ballard was born and raised in Oakdale, LA and has lived the past forty-six years in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Oakdale High School and Sowela Technical School where she obtained a degree in Accounting. She worked her younger years in the accounting office at Moss Regional Hospital and retired in Administrative accounting from McNeese State University. She was a devout Christian woman and a member of Sale Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Ballard will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-eight years, Olin Ballard of Lake Charles; two daughters, Debbie Ballard and Tonya Ballard Peloquin of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, T.J. Ballard and wife Georgette of New Bern, NC and Amanda and Bethany Peloquin of Lake Charles; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Hargrove and wife Rita of Moss Bluff and dear friends, Janelle Baldwin and Margaret Cross.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Claudine Thigpen Hargrove.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Randy Edwards will officiate. Visitation Wednesday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. Graveside services Thursday will be at 2:00 PM at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Oakdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
