Louise Graef Hebert, 87, of Lake Charles, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, in a Lake Charles Care Center.
Mrs. Hebert was born February 13, 1923, in Pine Prairie, La. She attended Bolton High School in Alexandria and met her late husband, Warren Graef in Pineville in 1939 and they were married in 1940. After they moved to Lake Charles, 70 years ago, Mrs. Hebert worked in the Sales Department at Muller's Department Store and later at Bartley Incorporated. She owned and operated The Copper Pot on Hodges St.
Mrs. Hebert was Past Worthy Matron of the Ruth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past president of the Habibi Shrine Auxiliary. She was a membr of St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church and a member of the Lydia Bible Study Group. Mrs. Hebert was an Art Instructor and award winning artist.
Mrs. Hebert was an active member of the Krewe of Noblesse.
Her first husband, Warren Graef preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Hebert, Sr., of Lake Charles; two daughters, Carol Kavanagh of Fredericksburg, VA and Janet Wolsefer of Winter Springs, FL; one son, Warren Graef, Jr., of Stafford, TX: one sister Lorraine Deville of Lecompte; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and six great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Henry Bowdon, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation is at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday.
