Louise R. Papania, 78, of Lake Charles died at 8:10 AM Thursday, September 02, 2010 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Papania was a native of Denver, Colorado and has lived in the Lake Charles area for most of her life. She first owned and operated Louise's Place before meeting and marrying her husband. She and her husband opened Papania's Restaurant in 1955 until 1990 making some of the finest Italian food in the lake area. Louise loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. She spent many hours at the restaurant cooking for patrons that entered the restaurant.
She is survived by one son Frank Papania, Jr. of Lake Charles, one daughter Margaret Papania of Austin, TX, four grandchildren: Julian Papania, Landon Papania, Gabriel Roset, and Chappin Strunk.
Mrs. Papania is preceded in death by her husband Frank Papania, Sr. and one brother Lee Irby. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Dalton
Irby.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 6, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of services.
