Louversa Fontenot Babineaux of Lake Charles passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. Mrs. Babineaux was born and raised in Chatagnier, LA and has lived forty-five years in Lake Charles. She loved to cook, bake and try new recipes. She enjoyed watching food network and various cooking shows and never missed her daily soap operas. She took great pride in her family as devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Babineaux was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and will be most remembered as a woman of faith and prayer. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of forty-five years, Eugene Joseph Babineaux of Lake Charles; one daughter, Yolanda Kim Babineaux of Lake Charles; son, Eugene Kurt Babineaux of Biloxi, MS; one granddaughter, Taylor Delane Babineaux of Lake Charles; brother, Colinze Fontenot of Eunice, LA and dear friends, LeRoy and Joyce Broussard of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levy and Levenia Edwards Fontenot and a sister, Proversa Fontenot Ardoin. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr. Private interment services will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. A celebration of life with family and friends will be at a later date.
