Loyce Hofstetter, 88, of Lake Charles died on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 PM in a local care facility. Ms. Loyce was born in Port Neches, Texas on December 1, 1925 to Lewis and Louise Gallier. Ms. Loyce loved fishing, cooking, and decorating cakes. She was famous for her tea cakes at her family reunion. Ms. Loyce was a member of the VFW #2130 and an American Legion Member. Survivors include one son, Rick and wife Noonie Burrell of Moss Bluff; one daughter, Judy Vezinat of Lake Charles; two brothers, Jack Gallier, Sammie and wife Mary Ann of Hemphill, Texas; two sisters, Betty Wise of Warren, Texas and Peggy Doucet of Ville Platte, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Betty Gallier of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Eric Montou and wife Kristee of Oberlin, Louisiana, Tammy Nalley of Alexandria, Louisiana, Brian Verrett and Glenda of Kountze, Texas, Kevin and Kim Verrett of Merryville, Louisiana, Rick Burrell Jr. of Westlake, Louisiana, and Kim Busby of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; sixteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Hofstetter and one son, Clarence "Roy" Verrett. Services will be 2:00PM Monday, December 30, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation resumes Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bart Leger will officiate services.
