Lucien Joseph L. J. Knoblock

Lucien Joseph L.J. Knoblock, 80, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mr. Knoblock was born in Fannett, TX to Lucien L. and Annie Mott Knoblock. He was raised in Texas and was a graduate of Nederland High School. He served the United States Navy Reserves. Mr. Knoblock worked most of his life as an Operator for Schlumberger Offshore, having retired after thirty-eight years of service. During his younger years he enjoyed bowling, along with his wife, with the Schlumberger team. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time at his camp in Toledo Bend and cooking.

Mr. Knoblock was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of sixty-one years, Doris Spittler Knoblock of Lake Charles; five daughters, Brenda Holcomb and husband Thomas of Lake Charles, Terry Anders and husband Douglas of Edna, TX, Sherry Reed and husband Ricky of Pinellas Park, FL, Pattie Knoblock of Iowa and Cynthia Marcantel and husband Bernard of Moss Bluff; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Effie Ruth Anderson and husband Andy of Fannette, TX and Carol Sue Knoblock Nederland, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 02, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Scott Conner will officiate. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM.
