Lucy Ann Alleman Lamontagne, 88, died at 2:35 PM on Monday, August 26, 2013, in a VA care facility.
Born in Paincourtville, Louisiana, to Claiborne Alleman and Clementine Rodrigue Alleman, Mrs. Lamontagne served her country as a Practical Nurse in the U. S. Army from 1944 1951. It was during her service as a nurse at Walter Reed Army Hospital that Mrs. Lamontagne contracted polio. She later married and raised her family in the Lake Charles area. Mrs. Lamontagne was a faithful member of Fatima Chapel in Lake Charles, which became part of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She also served on the Altar Society. She was a wonderful cook and took joy in serving delicious meals to her family and friends.
Mrs. Lamontagne is survived by two sons, Paul Lamontagne of Sulphur and Lee Lamontagne, Jr. of Lake Charles; two daughters, Janet White and husband Daniel of Sulphur and Susan Hungerford and husband Richard of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren, Robert Joseph Skipper, Shannon White and Jonathan White.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of twenty-one years, Leo Lamontagne.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Mike Trammel will officiate. Interment will be at Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their mother to the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA.
