Lucy Freeman Higgins, 73, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on October, 18, 2013. She was currently living in the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born on February 21, 1940. Lucy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lucy is survived by her daughter, Debbie Foster Carter and husband, Arthur; step children, Debra Rogers and husband, Kent, Aaron Higgins and wife, Melanie and Robert Higgins and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Ferrall Foster and wife, Jackie, Brandon Carter and wife, Stacy, Amanda and Jason, and Summer Crappell and husband, Jon; step grandchildren, Mark Rogers, Tiffany Cormier, Christina Johnson, Sabrina Mitchell, James Higgins, Andy Higgins, Joshua Higgins, Whitney Higgins, Robert Lee Higgins, Brandy Manuel and Jeremy Thomas; great grandchildren, Taylor and Electra Carter, Jasper Fredricks and Kayden Crappell, Gavin and Mason Foster; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, George and Dick Freeman; and sister, Barbara Abshire. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Carlton Foster; husband, Jim Floyd Higgins; son, Greg Foster and sister, Gladys Morgan. Pallbearers will be all her grandsons. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Burial was in Antioch Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. and will resume on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of the service.
