Lula Belle Trahan Oliver, 85, of Moss Bluff passed away at 12:28 AM on Monday, August 2, 2021, in a Lake Charles care center. Mrs. Oliver was born on July 14, 1936, in Welsh, LA to Vivian and Theo Trahan. She was raised in Iowa where she attended Iowa High School. At the age of 17 she moved to Lake Charles before moving to Moss Bluff 50 years ago. Mrs. Oliver was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ for 45 years. Until her very last days, she enjoyed rejoicing to the Lord in song. Mrs. Oliver took pleasure in yard work, garage selling, and dancing. She was also a collector of antiques and other interesting things. Her greatest joy in life was loving her grandchildren and babies. These left to cherish her memory are her children, David Oliver (Loraine), Deanna Oliver Young of Topsy, Pamela Oliver Sikes (John) of Iowa, Richard Oliver (Shirley) of Silsbee, TX, and Michael Oliver (Suszie) of Moss Bluff; sister, Juanita Trahan McGill of Newton, AL; 17 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Oliver; parents, Theodore and Vivian Humphrey Trahan; brother, Dennis Trahan; infant brother, Theodore Jr., sister, Lillian Trahan Ardoin; and grandchildren, Brandi and Chad Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 5, 2021, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff. Minister Ray Hyatt will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Thursday at 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
