Lura Johnson

Lura Johnson, 61, of Ragley, passed away suddenly at her home on Friday April 22, 2022.

Lura was a longtime resident of Crosby, TX and relocated last year to Ragley, LA with her husband, Brent, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She retired last year from Insurica in Baytown, TX after 30 years. Lura enjoyed the outdoors, gardening & yardwork, but most of all she loved her family and friends and spending time with them. She never met a stranger and all who met her loved her. She had a special gift of making people feel included, wanted and loved. She could see the best in others and wanted you to see it too. She loved discovering her new church and her new found relationship with Jesus.  She could light up the room with her smile and laughter. An angel she was and an angel she is now.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Richard and Doris June (Wagner) Robertson. She leaves to honor and cherish her memories, her beloved husband, Brent Johnson; children, Sean Johnson (Kristi); Amy Johnson (James Toups), Iowa; and Shane Johnson, Ragley; two grandchildren, Ava Johnson and Corbin Toups; siblings, Teresa Elliott (David), Hurst, Texas; Rick Robertson (Nancy) and Don Robertson, both of Weatherford, Texas; sister of the heart, Becky Fowler, Tulsa, OK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family of the heart.                                         

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 At Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles with a Rosary to be led by Father Jeff Starkovich at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues on Wednesday, April 27 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM with Pastor Sean Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
