Lydia Meaux

Lydia Meaux, age 90, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010, at Park Manor West Chase Nursing Home in Houston, TX.

Born August 3, 1920, in Gueydan, she grew up in Abbeville, before living most of her life in Lake Charles. She had been a resident of Houston, TX since 2005. Ms. Meaux was a homemaker. Preceding her in death was her husband, Eldis Meaux and parents Oliver Atchetee and Edith Mouton Atchetee.

Survivors include her three sons, Roger Dore' and wife Myra of Tacoma, WA, Kenneth Meaux and wife, Colleen of Groves, TX and Ronnie Meaux and wife, Julie of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Jason Meaux, Lisa Meaux, Melissa Dore', Chris Humburg-Meaux, and Steffi Humburg-Meaux; and one great-grandchild, Elijah Dore'.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home. Father Joseph Jessing will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday, October 15, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
