Lynda Aline Stoddard Ogea

November 16, 1943 — November 18, 2012

Lynda Aline Stoddard Ogea, 69, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 in a Houston, TX hospital.


Mrs. Ogea was born, raised and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Marion High School where she was a cheerleader. She formerly taught CCD classes and was affiliated with Christian Family Movement as a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, dancing, cooking, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.


Mrs. Ogea was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whom devoted her life to her family. She proudly followed and supported her children in all their activities from blue birds, twirling, dancing and cheerleading to softball, baseball, basketball and football. She found great joy in the time she shared with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.


She holds dear to her heart, her memories of her husband of 52 years, Larry M. Ogea of Lake Charles; four children, Lisa Ogea Davis and husband Ron of Kingwood, TX, Lance K. Ogea and wife Missy of Lake Charles, Laura Ogea Richards and husband Dale of Moss Bluff and Lonny G. Ogea and wife Amanda of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren, Tara Davis, Jason Richards, Grant Davis, Cole Ogea, Taylor Richards, Hannah Ogea, MacKenzie Davis, Grace Ogea, Marshall Richards and Emma Ogea; two sisters, Tricia Peavy and husband Russ of Ragley and Leah Stoddard of Austin, TX; one brother, Joedy Stoddard and many friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence W. and Aline Guillory Stoddard and two brothers, Ollie Glenn and Mann Stoddard.


Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Tuesday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Wednesday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
