Lynn Abshire

 Lynn Abshire, 69, of Carlyss, LA passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 28, 2018 in a local care facility. Lynn was born in Carlyss, LA on December 19, 1948 to Enos and Della Mae Abshire. He loved betting on rooster fights and horse racing. Lynn’s favorite holiday of the year was Thanksgiving. He also enjoyed being around family and friends and playing cards.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years Charlene Courmier Abshire of Carlyss, LA; two children, Melissa Ellender and husband Brad of Hackberry, LA and Dee Dee Abshire; four grandchildren, Josey Landry and husband Dustin, Matthew Constance and wife Courtney, Jonathan Constance and wife Morgan all of Sulphur, and Lauren Abshire of Carlyss; four great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Abshire; 2 sisters, Elaine Huck and husband Steve, and Della Jean Vallette and husband Matthew; niece and nephew, Richard and Jessica Abshire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Della Mae Abshire; brother, Richard Abshire and nephew, Chase Courmier.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jom officiating. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 4-10 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. at the funeral home with visitation continuing on Sunday, from 8 A.M. until time of the service.
