M.L. Rushing, 85, of Sulphur passed away on December 27, 2011 in his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lamar Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Brewtons Mill, LA. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 4-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. until time of service. M.L. was a native of Bastrop, LA and a longtime Sulphur resident. After high school, he joined the military where he served his country in the US Navy. After the military he worked for the paper mill in Springhill, LA. He then moved to south Louisiana and began working for Gulf States Utility until he retired in 1985. He was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sulphur, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. M.L. is survived by his daughter, Martha Kees and husband, Billy of Sulphur; daughter-in-law, Veronica Rushing of Mauriceville, TX; seven grandchildren, Tonya Davis and husband, Bo, Lisa Saulsberry and husband, Chad, Matthew Rushing and wife, Shauna, Andrea Webster and husband, Sam, Patrick Kelley, Cameron Kees and Bethany Kees; seven great grandchildren, Carissa Rowe, Cole Davis, Jack Davis, Sawyer Davis, Paige Saulsberry, Kamri Kellum, and Kori Rushing; one great-great grandchild, Emma Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Rushing, two sons, Gary Rushing and Keith Rushing.
