Mabel Benoit Foreman, 88, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 5:20 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2015, in her residence. Mrs. Foreman was born June 12, 1927 in Mermantau Cove, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for over seventy years. She worked for Mere's Grocery for a number of years and retired from Calcasieu Marine National Bank in 1988. She was a member of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church. She will always be remembered as a great cook, but her passion was for her family and her grandchildren. Mrs. Foreman is survived by her daughters, Dot Veillon and husband Harry, Carol Bonin, Darlene Bradley and husband Ricky, Gloria Mayard and husband Gary, all of Lake Charles, Debbie Broussard and husband Mike of Edgerly, and Leslie Duhon and husband Don of Moss Bluff; sons, Billy Foreman and wife JoBaya of DeRidder and Richard Foreman and wife Cindy of Grand Lake; sisters, Eunice Broussard of Morse, LA and Leola "Bea" Fruge of Lake Charles; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Bert V. Foreman; brother, Earl Eugene Benoit; and sister, Hazel McBride. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 19, 2015, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Trey Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service. The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Amedisys Hospice in particular her personal caregivers, Ms. Brenda Fontenot, Ashley Bellow, Robin Norris, Laurelle Shirley, Megan Schales, and Jessie Edgerton. Pallbearers for the service will be Tim Veillon, Chuck Bradley, Kent Foreman, Kevin Foreman, Jason Bonin, and Jeremy Mayard.
