Mae Dartez Humphrey

Mae Dartez Humphrey, 71, of Hayes, LA died at 5:32 AM on Sunday, March 27, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Humphrey was born June 10, 1939 in Kaplan, LA and lived most of her life in the Lake Charles / Iowa area before moving to Hayes six years ago. She attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking, and will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and companion.

Mrs. Humphrey is survived by her daughter, Donna Faith Thibodeaux; son, Roger Dale Humphrey, both of Iowa, LA; brothers, Clanas Dartez and wife Rose and Dallas Dartez and wife Irene; sister, Lolian Jean Jordan and husband Vic of Smyrna, TN; best friend and companion, Leroy Bellard; grandchildren, Casey LeBlanc, Jesse Osborne, and Broc' Humphrey; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Humphrey.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Andreas Kedati will officiate. Burial will follow in LaFranc Cemetery in Hecker, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
