Mamie Marie Parker

Mamie Marie Elkins Parker, 56, of Iowa, LA died January 25, 2016.

Marie was born on August 10, 1959 in Lake Charles, LA to A.J. and Priscilla Elkins. She worked 28 years as a lab manager at Boys Village School. Marie loved spending time with her friends and family, gardening, and scrapbooking. She was known as being the mother hen of her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, David Roy Parker of Iowa, LA; mother, Priscilla Guillory Savoy; father, A.J. Elkins and wife Sharon; two sons, Jason Roy Parker and Jacob Wayne Parker and wife Sharie all of Iowa, LA; three grandchildren, Austin Tye Parker, Brianna Marie Parker, Autumn Yvette Parker, and one on the way; three siblings, Cynthia “ Cindy” Talbot and husband Bobby of Iowa, LA, Kenneth Elkins and wife Donna of Grand lake, LA, and Connie Elkins Peloquin and husband Aaron of Iowa, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Kurt Elkins and Carl Elkins; and step father, James Savoy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, Janaury 30, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Cursillo Rosary. Visitation will continue on Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Father Nathan Long will officiate services.
