Marc Melancon

Marc Melancon, 67, of Lake Charles, LA died on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Galveston, TX surrounded by his loving family.

Marc was born on July 14, 1948 in Port Arthur, TX to O’Neil and Maudry Melancon.

He enjoyed coaching, fishing, hunting, and cooking. Marc was the Past President of the McNeese Petrochemical and Cowboy Clubs.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Cathy Melancon of Lake Charles, LA; three daughters, Christy Melancon and husband Keith Sandblom of Lake Charles, LA, Shelly Guillory and husband Jarrott of Lake Charles, LA, and Marcy Wade and husband Justin of Westlake, LA; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Lauren, Leslie, Kyndel, Austin, Caleb; and his beloved dog, Blaze; sisters, Neil Rae Murty and Rita “Tookie” Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, O’Neil and Maudry Melancon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church. Visitation will begin on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Association.
