Margaret Ann Turner LeJeune, 71, of Lake Charles, LA died at 9:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 in her residence. Mrs. LeJeune, or "Granny" as she was known, was born May 29, 1942 in Richard, LA and moved to the Lake Charles area in 1969. She worked as a sales clerk at the Evangeline Maid Thrift Store for twenty years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where she was a Catholic Daughter. Granny was also a member of the Cajun French Music Association. She loved spending time with her family. Sundays were her favorite day, always cooking for family and making everyone feel welcome. She was a remarkable, happy, loving woman and will be missed dearly. Granny is survived by her son, Greg LeJeune and wife Paula of Lake Charles; daughters, Annette White of Lake Charles, Tammy Sweat and husband Keith of Sulphur, and Shanda Chitty and husband Chris of Holmwood; ten grandchildren; and a nine great-grandchildren and two on-the-way. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Agnus LeJeune, Jr.; two sons, Jeffery Paul LeJeune and Barry Mark LeJeune; parents, Joseph Curtis and Irene LeDoux Turner; brother, Edward Carol Turner; grandson, Jon-Paul Malus; and great-grandson, Brian Keith McCoy, III. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 to 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
