Margaret Bell

October 3, 1932 — January 15, 2021

Mrs. Margaret Bell age 88 passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bradford House Nursing and Rehab Center on Friday, January 15, 2021 in Bentonville Arkansas.

She was born in Kinder Louisiana and attended high school in Fenton Louisiana where she excelled in basketball.  Margaret was a lifelong member of the VFW post 2130 in Lake Charles and was active in the ladies auxiliary and a member of the Cooties organization and very active in the CFMA.  Margaret was also a member of South City Church of Christ in Lake Charles Louisiana. Margaret was a wife, mother and homemaker who was passionate about family, cooking, baking, sewing, embroidery and dancing.  Her passion was cooking meals for her family and always had enough for all to "take a plate home” for later . She was also fluid in the Cajun French language as English was a second language for her. She was a selfless servant of God who put everyone else’s needs before her own.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Roderick Bell, her infant daughter Jeanette Bell, Maurice and Bessie Mae Cormier (parents), Leroy Cormier (brother), Howard Cormier (brother) and Helen Adams (sister).

Those left to cherish her memory are Alma Marie Davis (sister), Anita Jane (Eddie)Thibodeaux (daughter) of Bentonville, AR, Lloyd Glenn Bell (son) of Lake Charles, Angela Marie (Michael) Stirling (daughter) of Lake Charles, Kenneth Eric Thibodeaux (grandson) of Bentonville, AR and Ethan Michael Stirling (grandson) of Denham Springs, LA.

The family will welcome friends at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 beginning at 9:30am until time of service. A funeral service led by Pastor Willie Bellard will begin at 11am under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Liberty Cemetery in Elton, LA.

Special thanks to the staff of Bradford House Nursing and Rehab Center for the love and compassion they showed our dear sweet momma in her final days.
