Margaret Edwards

Margaret A. Edwards, 61, passed away February 26, 2013 at St. Patrick Hospital.

She was born in Lake Charles and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Margaret graduated Valedictorian of her high school class, received her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center and her LLM degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She was an active member of The Advocates of Christ Ministries.

Her parents, John and Catherine Edwards, preceded her in death. She is survived by her three brothers: Arthur (Helen) Edwards of Houston, Texas; Alvin (Carolyn) Edwards of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Philip Edwards of Houston, Texas; and her two sisters: Barbara Edwards Kane of New Orleans, Louisiana and Joyce Edwards of Houston, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Public Viewing will be from 8:30 to 10:30 Monday morning, March 4, at Johnson Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial at Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Father Clyde Thomas will officiate.

The public is invited to a reception following the Mass at the Lake Charles Civic Center in the Jean Lafitte Room.
