Margaret Fontenot

Margaret Joan Fontenot, 89, passed away in a local hospital on Monday, August 9, 2021.

She was born on March 1, 1932 in Liverpool, England to John Patrick and Winifred Nealis. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She was a member of the Christus St. Patrick Hospital Auxiliary.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lorraine Ann Baldwin of Moss Bluff, LA, Louis P. Fontenot, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, and Theresa Louisa Solana of Clifton, TX; grandchildren, Janee Swire (Justin), Terry Dronet, and Matthew Baldwin; great grandchildren, Ava, Austin, Justice, and Luke; siblings, Joe Nealis of New Zealand, Marie Tully of New Zealand, Valerie Hodgson of New Zealand, and Lill Salzano of England; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. Fontenot, Sr.; parents, John Patrick and Winifred Nealis and siblings, John Nealis of England and Patricia Salzano of England, son-in-laws, Luke D. Baldwin and Victor A. Solana, Jr. and daughter-in-law Kathy Fontenot.

A graveside service will be held at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Chandler Willis will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the cemetery.
