Margaret Lafleur Lavergne

Margaret LaFleur LaVergne, 90, of Lake Charles passed away at 4:40 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. LaVergne was born on September 16, 1925 in Crowley and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She was a graduate of Crowley High School. In her spare time, Ms. LaVergne loved playing bingo and also enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends on the bayou.

She leaves behind seven children, who were devoted to their mother until the end, Helen Fontenot (Dale) of Lake Charles, Barbara Cooper (Bob) of Orange, TX, Victor LaFleur of Toledo Bend, Russell LaFleur (Elabeth) of Bozeman, MT, David LaFleur (Brenda) of Lake Charles, Bobby LaFleur (Vicki) of Moss Bluff, and Phil LaFleur (Rhonda) of Toledo Bend. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, J.B. LaFleur and Eddie LaFleur, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
