Margaret Lou Vincent

January 2, 1943 — January 8, 2015

Margaret Lou Bourne Vincent, 72, of Lake Charles, LA died on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in her home with family members at her bedside recalling stories of her rich and interesting life. Margaret was born on January 2, 1943, in Lake Charles, LA to Louis Pete and Willie Mae Bourne. She attended school at Lake Charles High. Margaret loved quilting, needlework, puzzles, and flower decorating. It is not very often that you meet someone like Margaret Vincent. Her generosity to others was matched only by her patience and persistence. She could meet the hardships of life with a smile and a snicker, had the unusual ability to endure what would make others fall away. Cancer chose the wrong woman this round, as she fought it with the faith and strength beyond what any of the medical community thought possible. The Lord truly touched, and then kept his hand on, her as HE blessed her with a long life after the cancer diagnosis, as well as the full life before this disease began to afflict her body. She is survived by her three loving children, Pam Kay Smith and husband Brian of Hull, TX, Junior Vincent and wife Salena of Lumberton ,MS, and Thomas Vincent of Monticello, MS; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Sherry Vincent of Lake Charles, LA and Connie Vige and husband James of Lake Charles, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Pete and Willie Mae Bourne; as well as her sister, Bonnie Jean Bourne. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
