Margaret Orvella McCullor Malone, 93, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 in a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Malone was born, raised and educated in Pleasant Hill, LA. She was a graduate in Pleasant Hill High School where she played on the Championship Basketball team. She worked nearly thirty years as a Sales Representative and Area Manager for Studio Girl Cosmetics. She was a Captain of the Women's Division of the Calcasieu Parish Civil Defense, having crossed countless children to Fourth Ward School. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Malone loved fishing, working in her yard and Yatzee. She will be most remembered for her legacy of "chocolate gravy and biscuits".
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, George Madison Malone of Houston, TX and Willis Malone and wife Kathy of Amarillo, TX; three grandchildren, Brian Todd Malone and wife Angi of Jacksonville, FL, Tammy Malone Adams of Amarillo, TX and Rebecca Suzanne M. Freed and husband Harry of Houston, TX; six great-grandchildren, Ashlee Adams of Amarillo, TX, Nicholas Malone of Jacksonville, FL, Brandon Malone of Jacksonville, FL, Christopher Freed, Rachael Freed and Matthew Freed, all of Fort Worth, TX and one sister, Willie V. McCullor Landry of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Malone; her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 07, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
