Margie Faye Sadler Ensminger, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 30 in Bedford, Texas. She was a native of Louisiana and lived in Lake Charles for over 60 years. Faye was born on September 6, 1928 to Roland Dan Sadler and Minnie Lee Elliott Sadler in Lone Pine, LA. She married Ralph Ensminger in 1946. Ralph preceded her in death in 1980. Faye is survived by 3 children; Steve (Darci) Ensminger of Moss Bluff, Debbie Venable of Grapevine, TX and Donna (Randy) Gray of Colleyville, TX.; 4 grandchildren; Josh (Connie) Venable of Jenks, OK., Lexi (Todd) Jackson of Lake Charles, Marshall (Nicole) Gray of Hurst, TX, and Kellen (Mary) Gray of Austin, TX.; 2 great granddaughters; Danon Jackson and Chase Venable and a third great granddaughter expected in October in Austin.; 2 sisters; Genevieve Ginny' Goodloe and Ann (Charles) Sam' Reeves of Lake Charles and 1 brother Frank (Janice) Sadler of Baton Rouge along with many nieces and nephews and extended family. Among her many job titles were daughter, wife, mother, homemaker, seamstress and career woman. Faye was the church secretary at Sale Street Baptist Church for 23 years where she worked for her best friend, Bro. Ernest Walker until she retired in 1981. Ralph and Faye owned and operated Lake Street Hardware for many years. Ralph and Faye were lifelong members of Sale Street. Faye was also affectionately known as The Flower Lady' providing many beautiful arrangements, seasonal and holiday decorations for all to enjoy at Sale Street. She could often be seen working in her yard with her big floppy straw hat on and driving her riding lawn mower at her home on Prien Lake Road. She also enjoyed garage sales, sewing, being active in her church and spending time with family. After suffering a stroke in 2006, Faye moved to Texas to be near her daughters. The family would like to extend special thanks to the care giving staff at Parkwood Healthcare in Bedford, TX where Faye resided the past 4 years. Thanks also to Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and gentleness the last 3 months of her life. Visitation with the family will be on Friday evening, August 8 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:30-8:00 P.M. Celebration of Faye's life will be conducted by Reverend Ernest Walker and Reverend Randy Edwards at Sale Street Baptist Church on Sale Street at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 9 with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. A burial at Consolata Cemetery will follow. Donations in remembrance of Faye may be made to the Reap The Harvest Building Campaign at Sale Street Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org., both organizations that Faye faithfully supported.
