Marian Elaine Dejean

November 19, 1930 — April 30, 2018

Marian Elaine Breaux DeJean, 87, died on April, 30, 2017 in a local care facility.

 

Born and reared in Evangeline, Elaine graduated from Iota High School in 1948. She married her husband, James (Jimmy) DeJean in 1957, and they moved to Lake Charles. Elaine was a bookkeeper for Lake Charles Pipe and Supply for twenty years, retiring in 1990. Elaine enjoyed camping with her husband, crisscrossing over 125,000 miles of the United States in their fifth wheel camper. Elaine was an amazing homemaker and excelled at cooking and baking. She was a loving wife and mother, devoted to her family.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of sixty years, James J. DeJean, and one son, Ray DeJean, both of Lake Charles, one daughter, Jimmie Lou Breaux and husband Richard of Charleston, South Carolina; one brother, Wayne Breaux and wife Deanna of Jennings; and sister Kay Guillory and husband Darrell of Jennings; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Charles DeJean , her grandson, Jacques DeJean and her sister Sharon Derouen.

 

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 5-8PM with a Rosary at 6:30. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9:30-11AM on Friday. Funeral services will begin at 11AM, officiated by Msgr. Danny Torres. Interment will be at Prien Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
