Marie Ann Ford

Marie Ann Ford, 78, passed away on September 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her own home.

Mrs. Ford is a forty-five year resident of Ragley, LA and a devoted mother and grandmother. She was lovingly known as “Granny” to everyone and would gladly take in others in need. She enjoyed dancing, painting, and loved to cook for her family. For thirty years she spent the first Wednesday of every month playing Pokeno with her group of friends. She would also work seasonally at Thib’s Pecan House.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Friley Justin “Smokey” Ford; her caregiver, Maggie O’Brien; son, Paul Austin “Stoney” Ford and wife Lisa; son, Robert Andrew “Drew” Ford and wife Penny; brother, Paul Lokey; six grandchildren, Thora Ford, Kristian Frugé, Jonah Ford, Payton Frugé, Taryn “Tootie” Ford, and Gerald Eckard; five great grandchildren, Ellis Frugé, Preston Kirkland, Luke Ashworth, Anthony Eckard, and Callie Ashworth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Friley Joseph Ford Jr. to whom she was married since 1958; and her son David Wayne Ford.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 1PM on Friday, September 29, 2017. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA. Reverend Tim Goodly will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 3PM-9PM on Thursday, September 28. A vigil will be held at 6PM by Deacon Roy Nash and followed by the rosary at 6:30PM Thursday evening. Visitation will continue Friday morning at 10AM until the start of the service at the funeral home.
