Marie Ellen Hebert

Marie Ellen Smith Hebert, 95, was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Born to and the last surviving child of Alvin and Lydia Simmons Smith, Mrs. Hebert lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lake Charles Bible Church. She was a dedicated servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Hebert is survived by one son, Joseph Ellis Hebert and wife Cathy of Okemah, Oklahoma and two grandsons, Sam Hebert and Matthew Hebert, both also of Okemah. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph L. Hebert. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Palestine Baptist Church in Grant, Louisiana under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend Don Barrett and Reverend Phil Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be at Palestine Cemetery in Grant. Visitation in Lake Charles will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9 until 11 a.m. and will resume at the Palestine Baptist Church in Grant at 1:30 p.m. until service time.
