Marie Jackson Brooks

Marie Jackson Brooks, age 84, joined her heavenly family on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.

Born March 12, 1926, she retired from K Mart, having been an associate there for over 23 years. Ms. Brooks enjoyed gardening and working in her yard and traveling. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Clifford A. Brooks, Sr. and wife, Evelyn of Sulphur; two daughters, Gloria Jean Kurz and husband, David of Houston and Edna Kathleen LeBert and husband, Penny of Azle, TX; six grandchildren, Shane, Todd, Bridget, Melissa, Cliff, and Tracy; nine great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, her "baby", Honey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Thursday, February 3, from 8 a.m. until time of service. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Resthaven Nursing Home, Odyssey Hospice, all her neighbors, and a special thanks to Craig and Kathy, who she loved dearly.
