Marie Nunez Miller

Marie Ethel Nunez Miller, 91, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Miller was born, raised and lived most of her life in Grand Chenier, LA. She has lived the past twenty years in Lake Charles. She worked many years as a Clerk for the US Postal Service. Mrs. Miller enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, cooking, baking, crocheting and gardening. She especially enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, her contagious smile and her constant piddling.

Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Eugene and Christ the King Catholic Churches.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Dora Mae Pinch of Grand Chenier; her children, Billy Pinch and wife Roberta, Bobby Pinch and wife Norma, Mary Kaye Allemond and husband Al, nephews Kenneth Nunez, Jr. and wife Charlotte and Ken Joseph Nunez as well as numerous other much loved nieces, nephews. She also leaves, her "adopted children", great nieces Kali Nicole Currey and Paula McCall.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Eugene Miller; her parents, Paul and Odelia Savoie Nunez; one brother, Kenneth Nunez; one niece, Glenda Nunez McPherson and one nephew, Patrick W. Pinch.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 15, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Eugene Catholic Cemetery in Grand Chenier. Visitation Wednesday will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
