Marietta Wagner, 87, of Sulphur, LA passed away on February 25, 2012 in a local hospital. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sulphur. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Marietta, a native of Danville, IL, was a long-time resident of Sulphur. After graduating from high school and business school, she moved to Sulphur with her parents where she went to work in the Personnel Department at Cities Service, now Citgo. It was there that Marietta met and married her one true love, Pete Wagner. She later worked at Century Steps for several years. Marietta was a very active Charter Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women (PW) and the Monday Morning Prayer Circle. She will be truly missed by all for her laughter, kindness, love of pink, and most of all, her famous brownies. Marietta is survived by her daughter, Connie W. Ellender and son-in-law, Jay Ellender of Sulphur; grandson, Rory Ellender and his wife, Shonda, of Dallas, TX; grandson, Jayme Ellender and his wife, Jamie, of Baton Rouge, LA; and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Evan Ellender of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Pete Wagner; and parents, C.L. and Ruth Fields.
